COWARDS

After reading American Android’s goodbye letter I feel I must speak and let everyone know that this isn’t just a fluke ….

I have been attacked on a regular basis with nasty emails since my last Writing Challenge.  Like with American Android they have used the guest reviewer part of FF so that I can’t know who they are …..  I have been told that my banners are nothing but pieces of shit and they will be glad when the authors that use my banners finally wake up and see how I am damaging their stories.  These COWARDS have told me how much better the fandom will be when I am gone from it.  I was also informed about some of the banners that were adopted were done so to simply remove them from sight and that the people that adopted them never had any intention of using them.  I can say that I have had banners adopted and they were never used.   I have been accused of cheating in the Writing Challenges to make sure that only my friends are the winners.  I will tell you this now I have never cheated, hell I don’t even vote because I know who the author is of each and every story.

I am telling you this now because I am DONE …. For you COWARDS that want to attack without your ‘target’ knowing who you are listen up …. either sign in and tell us all who you are or SHUT THE FUCK UP.

Why is it that when everyone has the same opinion as some of you do everything is hunky dory but the minute someone decides to think for themselves and voice that thought, oh hell, the war wagons are circled and the flaming arrows start flying ….. Let’s remember that the only people that had an original thought concerning  TB/SVM are Charlaine Harris and Alan Ball … everything else is a rip off of their ideas that they so graciously let us play with and tweak to our liking…

Please know that if I had the names of these COWARDS  I most certainly would publish them and if I find out later who they are I will be posting them then …..

For some of you that say the fandom is dying you have only to look in the mirror to see the cause …

For those of you that have expressed a desire to see the Banner Adoption and Writing Challenges return … Thank You … I am not sure if they will, right now I am very busy working with Homeless Veterans,  for some strange reason one of the many Veteran’s groups decided that I should be the President of the local group so my time is pretty full.   I am still working with the 5 authors that I have worked with in the past but, I am not taking on any new authors right now.

Okay, I have now added voice to thought so circle the wagons and let the flaming begin but, remember to sign your name first or it hits the trash can never to see the light of day.

I read your work and I enjoy your art. Your name is one that I have seen over and over associated with others to whom you have selflessly given. You leave a hole that won’t be filled.   3. I will never understand why people choose to be so mean and hateful! Do they actually get some kind of perverse pleasure out of hurting people? It’s ridiculous! I’m so sorry you and so many others are having to deal with these assholes. If I was on FF.net I’m sure I would get my share of cowards bashing my work too. Yours is great by the way! Thankfully I haven’t had anything but positive responses, but I’ve only been here a year so…. Big hugs to you and I hope things get better soon!

  5. What the hell has happened to our fandom when people, like yourself, are targeted and bullied for only helping out and doing something nice for our authors? I’m actually ashamed to be apart of our fandom at the moment with all the childishness.

    The ability to be anonymous gives these people the mistaken belief that they’re being brave or cool, when in actuality they’re only being childish little cretins. If they were really brave they would sign their names to their comments/reviews.

  6. I have seen all of you struggle with this for years now. Is there no way to know who is doing this. I know if I’m not in WordPress I have to leave name and email. If not then any review by an anonymous person must be deleted. If they will not leave their name then the review is just not worth reading. Some one said the other day they were going to report cyber bulling. I really think yall should. Another way to look at it… Every hateful word they spew is jealousy, petty and a very unhappy person. If a person has to resort to bullying the author over something they wrote it just goes to show how ignorant, discourteous and not well mannered they are. They were raised with hate in their blood.
    I for one love your stories. You a a group of very talented ladies. Thank you for giving me years of entertainment.
    If you give up what you love to do then the ill mannered idiots win.
    You ladies have too much talent and imagination to let somebody take that away from you.
    Just know there are those of us that are usually silent that love and appreciate your stories.

  8. Knowing that you have had to deal with this for a long time, I commend you for speaking out now. You are one of my muses. I’ve told you this before privately, but let me say it publicly too. Your art has helped to craft my work–as you well know, my amazing “Graphic Beta.” I’ve been honored and thrilled with everything you have ever done for me, just as I was honored and thrilled the first time you approached me with a banner for my work. You and Kleannhouse share in all of my positive reviews–as far as I am concerned. And anyone who argues with that is ignorant about how you and she help me to see what I’d not seen before.

    You haven’t ever “damaged” anything I’ve written; on the contrary, you help me see the holes that I need to repair.

    I love you, my friend. The fact that you honor me with your art is gravy in an already fattening meal that includes your friendship, your wit, and your giving spirit.

    ANYONE who messes with you–messes with me. I know that my doing well in your contests helped to fuel the flames the bullies lit against you, but I’ll never be sorry that you have inspired me to write things I would have never written otherwise. GEEZ! You are one of the most honest women I know, and I also know that you would tell me if you thought my work was lackluster. You don’t stack decks; you cut the cards an extra time to ensure that things are fair. Anyone who thinks otherwise is not worthy of a thought as far as I’m concerned.

    You enrich my life, ma’am. And, even if you never designed another banner for me again, you always will.

    I just thank the powers that be that you have the courage and fortitude to “keep at it” for the writers you trust. And I am honored to be one of them.

  14. I’m just an average everyday person who loves Eric and Sookie. I started reading FF about 5 or 6 years ago. What a wonderful discovery! I think I’ve read hundreds and hundreds of ffs over those years. Some good, some not so good, some just beyond words and some that get thrown in the “bin” pretty quick…but I’ve NEVER believed that it was okay to be nasty to someone, anonymously or otherwise.
    We may be linked in the computer ether but there’s a person, a human being, on each end and I think some people forget this. They insult their computer screens! I treat others as I would want to be treated. Constructive, tactful criticism is one thing, nastiness and bitchiness is unacceptable!
    I simply can’t understand it. Each and every author and artist does this for enjoyment and FOR FREE. How can we readers not be grateful? I’ve spent incalculable hours reading (and re-reading) some wonderful, inspiring, funny, sexy, sad, tragic and joyful versions of Eric and Sookie et al, and wouldn’t have missed the experience for anything.
    Where has the united spirit gone that I saw when our beloved Angela passed so tragically? I saw so much grief and an outpouring of friendship and genuine comradery. THATS what this community means to me. THATS all I’ve really seen…until now.
    I hope there’s forgiveness for mistakenly hurt feelings but at NO TIME is it acceptable to knowingly hurting someone else with cruel and thoughtless words!!!

  15. I’m so sorry you have to deal with this. I never comment or review. But I’ve been reading SVM/TB fabric for years. You guys are all amazing for what you do. I wish I had the talent and courage all the artists and writers have to put out these stories we all love. It really makes me angry when I see all the hate you guys gave been getting lately. Do people really have nothing better to do than sew venom at people who work so hard to entertain us. FOR FREE. Really people. Grow up. I hope you continue with new stuff and don’t let these nameless cowards get you down.

  16. This is so sad. I feel for you to have these trolls with nothing better to do than prey on positive work and the people behind it. I want to say ignore these fools and move on, but that is not always the easiest option. Real talent and feeling goes behind your art and writing.

    I hate losing anyone in this or any other realm. I am sure you have thought long and hard about this, bottom line. You do what is best for you.

  17. I’m totally bewildered by what these people get out of online bullying (let’s face it that is what it is). Cowards is exactly what they are or they’d put a name to their comments. I hate the fact that people are slowly giving up what they love because they have to put up with this shit.

    As for the shit being thrown – I actually think the betas and graphic artists should share in awards with the writers. I’m sick of hearing about cheating – what the hell do people think anyone would get out of it? Why would any writer, beta or artist want something they didn’t win fair and square? How the hell are you supposed to rig voting on these sites? It’s beyond ridiculous to keep suggesting it.

    My son writes his own fan fiction so I know from him how frustrating these trolls are and he now deletes all anon comments before reading. He can also create drawings digitally better than by hand so I know the skills that go into digital art. I love yours and I will come straight out and say I voted for you myself. I’ve never once thought your work detracts from any story – quite the oppposite. I’m sorry you’re having all this thrown at you and hope it doesn’t stop you doing what you enjoy and what we all enjoy seeing. I love the contests too but I wouldn’t blame anyone that’s had enough these last few weeks. I just hope the fandom comes out of this ok on the other side.

    Would people please stop and think about the time and work people put into writing, designing, betaing, competitions, awards and running websites. It all takes a lot of committment. I co-ran a book club site once and the amount of time we spent just setting up the next book and keeping the site going ate into our personal time like you wouldn’t believe and it was nowhere on the scale these guys commit to.

If they had to look into someone’s eyes and say the same thing, they would not be able to. They are exactly what you said- cowards.

I’m also only a reader of FF for a few years now, and I really appreciate all of your talent and love to your writing. All of these ladies spend the spare time with writing and being creative for OUR entertainment, and have to deal now with these bullshit. Shame on these anonymous shitbags. I really hope, you are able, to ignore these mails and comments.

  20. I also have to agree with everyone’s comments. I have been reading in this fandom for well over 3 years now and i have only left 1 negative comment on a story. Unlike the anonymous cowards i had the balls to do it under my user name. I absolutely love reading TB/SVM stories and commend all the writers for taking the time out of their lives to share their writing and imaginations with us. I also appreciate the betas and banner makers. Without all of you and your wonderful imaginations a lot of us would have nothing to read that helps get us through our days. So please ladies and Gents of this fandom keep up the good work and just know that there are way more of us that enjoy your work that those that criticize it.

  23. I have to wonder if all this who-ha has been contrived by those that tried to ruin this universe on FF. It all seems so much like deja vu.
    If you remember anonymous readers were getting writers to be extra racey and then reporting them to the authorities to get them removed? So the fandom moved to private sites and here we are again.
    I agree Charlaine and Allan are the only people who can own this subject so we write as fans for fun and creative outlet.
    Who are the people who want to ruin this?
    Fans unite. I believe this fandom is under attack. Creativeness is individual each has their own muse. Personal and different taste keeps it all interesting. Supportive criticism can be helpfull (’cause we all need to keep learning) but we all have a different story to tell.
    Why do we need to tell people their ideas are no good or to write a whole different story or make a different picture? If you want something different or ‘better’ use those ideas and do it yourself (is what I think).
    Stay strong Kat and all the members of this fandom. Keep on keeping on.

We seem to be dealing with a severe case of the idle people – someone should find them something to do – preferably something to do with glue, that sticks their busy fingers to their keyboards – permanently. I’ve been bored too, but God, haven’t these people heard of Youtube? Knitting? Jogging. Binge watching and Netflix? What a sad bunch! I hope they scatter soon and good for you for not letting them push you. I can’t say I would have that reaction. Stay awesome.

  27. I’m sorry to read that about what you and others have been going through. I just wanted to share that your fall writing challenge last year gave me the opportunity to actually write something and I don’t know if I would’ve done it otherwise. So while there seems to be some hateful words being said, you should know how appreciative I am that you provided me with a forum to do something completely foreign. You allowed me to take a risk and try something new….and that is a gift! Your challenge did exactly that, and while I haven’t written anything since, I have spent many a day since putting down ideas and reading books and articles about the art of writing in the hope that I’ll get brave enough to put words to paper, tell a story, and share it. And it all began with you!

    What you, the writers, the betas, and the banner-makers do matters. For many of us, these are the places we go to hope and to dream, to run away from our troubles or the darkness that invades our lives from time to time. These things are important — don’t doubt it for a moment. I have laughed and cried. My heart has soared, filled with the love instilled in these stories by their creators.

    I so love Eric and Sookie stories and I look forward to discovering new stories and new authors, as well as re-reading many of my favorites. I’m saddened to see what’s been filling my mailbox lately. I wish for wounds to be healed, for everyone to get along, and to appreciate each other. I hope all of you talented people continue to share your gifts. If not, I understand. Just know you’ve made a difference. Take good care.

  28. I am not sure of what is going on I just started seeing bunch of stuff show up in my email and it just seemed like everything is blowing up! You know I love all you guys – reading the stories of this fandom is my hobby! Anytime I get a few minutes I am trying to catch up on all the stories. Then I see where people are going to stop writing and are saying goodbye – what the heck is going on! I love all you guys for what you do for those of us who can’t write or make beautiful banners with our favorite Viking and Telepath. I don’t know who these haters are but they need to move on – if they don’t like something don’t read or look at it. I can only guess they have a miserable life and they don’t need to bring their misery on us. Please know that their are people out there that love everything you guys do and want you to keep on doing it! AS YOU SAID COWARDS!!! I will support all of you with everything you do!!

Cowards indeed to tell you anything otherwise! I hate to hear how you have been targeted for no reason at all. I wish you the best and I’m glad that you will be continuing with your current writers that you’ve been working with. Since I entered the fandom, your name has been one of legend and it disgusts me that anyone would say anything negative, much less not even show themselves.

  32. Well said hun. The allowing of guest reviews is the worst decision FFn has ever made. When I asked about it years ago before I left FFn, I was told that its to make it easier for readers and if authors didn’t like reviews to just delete them. So sad.

  34. I can only believe that there are people out there who are so unhappy that they can’t bear to see anyone else be happy. They feel untalented so they attack those with talent. Their misery is so overwhelming they can’t feel joy for those who seem to be doing well. It seems that the most talented people are the ones attacked. I’ve noticed in Amazon reviews that books people love and give five stars also have at least one who will say something cruel, with no actual review. It must be a compulsion. I hate to think what these peoples home and family lives are like.

    I hate to see talented people allow these cowardly attackers to rule their lives. No matter what they say, you have people who love and admire you. You still get up in the morning and go about your day, loving your families, doing your work. Their words cannot change that. They are like the people who destroy parks and play grounds because they can’t abide anything beautiful. I hate that I may not get to read the rest of American Android’s stories, or Zofya’s, or see more of Sephrenia’s banners. if I was writing fan fiction right now, I would adopt banners and display them proudly. You people are some of the best writers I have read, better than many professionals. I know that ninety-nine great reviews can be undone by one cruel, snide remark. Those are the ones we remember. We are human. When someone hits us it hurts and we don’t like to be hurt. I can’t remember who said it, but it’s something to the effect that success is the best revenge.

    Know that you people will always have a fan in me. I started a crossover with SVM/Carpathians that will probably never be finished. Honestly, putting anything of mine out there where is so much good stuff intimidates me. Nevertheless, your stories bless my days and nights. I hope to keep reading them.

  35. I’m a reader not a writer. I have been following this fandom for years. Way back when TB started, I couldn’t get enough, so I searched for more and I found it. I have read so many stories. This fandom has helped me through some really shitty times in real life and some great times too. You all are a part of my life and though we don’t really know each other, I consider you family. I don’t always leave reviews but I try to even if it is just one word. I hate that we are losing some great writers and wonderful stories.
    Please just know that some of us really do appreciate each and every word you all write and I hope to be reading for many years to come

  36. anon ppl will forever piss me off. it doesn’t just happen here, I’ve gotten anon letters in my mailbox complaining of a barking dog I don’t have. if it’s not got a name on it, it’s not worth reading!! I have been trying to leave comments on everything I read (just started this because of the troubles recently that 4padfoot has/had. if I’m too lazy to sign in, I leave my jjbuffy2 username and/or email at the end for the purpose of my comment being ‘real’ (anon is bs whether it’s negative or positive. put a name on it or it isn’t ‘real’.). it’s just junk mail meant for the trash! I notice the banners and the betas, they inspire and improve. just say NO to anon and delete that shit, just like the junk mail goes in the trash. ❤
